The New York Transit Museum is home to over 100 years of transit lore and memorabilia. It is housed in an authentic 1930's subway station, in Brooklyn Heights, containing vintage subway and elevated cars, antique turnstiles, and a working signal tower, among others.
The Museum’s mission is to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret the cultural, social and technological history of public transportation in the New York metropolitan region, and to make our research, exhibitions, tours and educational programs available to the broadest possible audience.
The Gallery Annex & Store in Grand Central Terminal offers changing exhibitions and educational programming reflecting its mission. You will also find a large selection of unique transportation related publications, gifts, memorabilia, posters, toys and much more.
Proceeds from the retail operation support the Museum’s collections, exhibitions and educational programs.
